Enrolling When You’re New
As a new staff member, you have important decisions to make within your first 31 days at Amgen.
Enroll by the Deadline
It’s important to understand the enrollment deadlines and enroll for the coverage you want when you are first eligible. Provided you take the required action, coverage begins on your date of hire. Note that enrollment in the Lyra Health Behavioral Health, basic life insurance and the company-paid STD and LTD plans is automatic.

2 To avoid exceeding maximum contribution limits imposed by the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), email [email protected] with your year-to-date contribution amount from your prior employer.
The benefit elections you make when you are first hired generally cannot be changed until the following calendar year. The only exception is if you have a qualified change in status—such as marriage, divorce or the birth or adoption of a child. In the event of a qualified change in status, you must take action by certain deadlines to make changes to your coverage. For more information, contact the Amgen Benefits Center.
